CIMSPA is pleased to announce that both John Amaechi OBE and Jennie Price CBE will present keynotes on Day 2 of at next month’s CIMSPA and Quest NBS conference 2018.
Great keynotes for Day 2
The day’s opening keynote will be given by John Amaechi – psychologist, New York Times best-selling author and former NBA basketball player.
His presentation’s theme is “understanding people” – tailoring recruitment and retention policies and cultures to get and keep the best staff and lower costs.
In the event’s closing keynote, Jennie Price, chief executive, Sport England, will highlight the importance of a professional, engaged workforce as a foundation to delivering Sport England’s Towards an Active Nation strategy goals. Jennie will provide an insight into Sport England’s thinking at an important time, as it consults on its new workforce strategy and delivery is starting on many of its new programs.
A must attend good practice update
Managing Health & Safety in Swimming Pools is the landmark publication used by operators to guide them through what is arguably the most complex facility management challenge in the sport and physical activity sector – safe swimming pool operation.
HSE’s Cameron Adam, Principal Inspector and Frances Kelly, HM Inspector of Health & Safety, will highlight the main thrust of the new edition’s changes and additions and explain where other essential sources of information can be found.
Meet the new CIMSPA chair
Marc Woods stepped up to the role of CIMSPA chair in November 2017. In his conference opening presentation, Marc will share his personal story as a Paralympic athlete, drawing parallels to challenges many organisations face. He’ll focus on taking personal responsibility as well as teamwork, great communication and aligning goals. His view is simple – everyone has a role to play.
Speaking about the programme updates, Tara Dillon, CIMSPA CEO said: “With John Amaechi opening day 2 our audiences will experience a world-class speaker with a wealth of experience on nurturing healthy organisational cultures; and with Jennie Price closing our event, our delegates can look forward to an effective briefing at an important time for our sector.
“Add to that an exclusive launch of guidance that the majority of operators must ensure they align with, and the day as a whole offers huge value for a very reasonable cost – come along and play your part in changing our sector for the better.”
Delegate fees for Day 2 start at just £85+VAT, with a bundle ticket for both event days just £200+VAT – including evening reception ticket (normally £40+VAT).
