CIMSPA's 2018 conference was a joint event, held in partnership with Quest NBS.
The 8th Quest NBS Conference saw Quest for Facilities and Quest Active Communities host their first joint conference with a programme designed to appeal to those currently in Quest, those looking at Quest in the future and also Operators who do not currently use Quest.
The Conference programme looked in detail at aspects of operational challenges across the industry linking to the CIMSPA Day 2 content, with a focus on lessons learnt, getting the inactive active and how we can engage in new ways including presentations from Public Health England, a discussion on Brexit and the impact and implications for our industry and a Keynote Presentation from Natalie Summers, Fitness Entrepreneur, Mentor, Author and Co-founder of BG Epic Training & Bear's Personal Trainer who will provide her thoughts on the current fitness industry.
The Conference offered a unique perspective on physical activity, our operational, frontline challenges and how as an industry we can address these to find practical solutions.
Day 2 of the event presented CIMSPA’s packed programme focused on frontline service delivery.
Through the morning we covered how to recruit and retain millennials; keeping facilities safe in light of the current terror threat; how to employ, train and pay an apprentice; and ensuring employable graduates.
After lunch and networking, we turned our attention to addressing the new reality of safeguarding and duty of care being at the top of the political agenda; an update on the CIMSPA professional standards rollout and what it means for YOUR career; plus expert advice on recruitment to fill those holes in your staff rota.
The day was bookended by opening and closing keynotes from high profile sector leaders.
